Loss Control Officer

 Monitor dispatch of printed newspapers
 Preventing theft of hardcopy newspapers
 Preventing theft of online newspapers
 Attending to and investigating Road traffic accidents involving company vehicles
 Attending to and investigating all workplace incidences and accidents involving company machinery and equipment in liaison with SHEQA
 Supervising outsourced security guards who man all keypoints within the premises
 Carrying out verification processes of new employees’ driver’s licences at CVR
 Carrying out background checks of new employees at CID
 Escorting cash to and from the bank
 Monitor dispatch of goods
 Monitor movement of company assets
 Monitor CCTV and submitting return to the Loss Control Manager
 Receiving and verifying unsold newspapers from vendors.
 Reporting all criminal cases to the ZRP
 Representing the company in criminal matters at the courts
 Carrying out investigations involving theft, embezzlement and pilferage within the company systems

 Commanding a workforce of 310 security guards
 Carrying out Security Surveys, establishing all security threats and crime hotspots within the estates, manufacturing plants and retail outlets.
 Periodic review of existing security policies in line with the ever-changing criminals’ modus operandi (modes of operation).
 Carrying out tactical plans in implementing security strategies.
 Carrying out investigations into any loss related cases and accidents.
 Making sure security personnel and surveillance officers are deployed in all security threat areas
 Carrying out spot checks on financial records.
 Loss Control in the value chain of timber production and in the line of production of timber.
 Enforcement compliance to basic Safety, Health and Environmental Standards within the company premises
 Attending to scenes within the company’s establishments involving loss to the company.
 Monitoring CCTV and submitting weekly and monthly CCTV reports to the Chain of Custody Officer.
 Reporting all criminal matters to the Zimbabwe Republic Police.
 Representing the company in criminal cases at the courts.
 Carrying out security checks and visits to Estates as well as retail outlets
 Enforcing compliance on all Standard Operating Procedures of the company.
 Cultivating informers who provide information.
 Instituting disciplinary proceedings to all security personnel implicated in criminal activities.
 Educating employees on the advantages of practising safe working procedures.
 Assisting the Chain of Custody in identifying CAPEX needs and drafting the department’s yearly budgets.
 Organising training of security personnel both internally and externally.
 Any other duties as may be assigned by my superior.

 Differentiating between a crime and a civil wrong
 Representing the State in Bail applications
 Interviewing witnesses to obtain evidence
 Interviewing suspects to come up with the correct charges
