Valcol Executive Appointments, a division of the Valcol Group, is privileged to offer and represent CAFCA in the search and selection of executive candidates to be considered for the role of Chief Executive Officer.

CAFCA is Zimbabwe’s only cable manufacturer, which offers cables, tolling services, and allied products to local and export customers. It was established in 1947. It has a primary listing on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. CAFCA is part of CBi Electric African Cables (RSA), which in turn is owned by Reunert Limited (RSA).

This exciting role is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced business leader, preferably over 40, to significantly impact our client’s business and shape the future direction and operational performance built up after trading successfully for many decades. The Company has enjoyed considerable success across several critical sectors and continues to grow and open new markets.

The Chief Executive Officer shall be expected to provide clear and sound leadership direction and decisions through their visionary policies and procedures to ensure that the Company continues to succeed as a renowned supplier and manufacturer. Your demonstrated leadership skill in implementing good strategic objectives and delivering the Company’s future financial performance is required. As the core driver, you must direct and control the divisional and functional Heads with advice and leadership, managing the internal operational activities of the various departments in agreement with the strategy, policies, goals, and objectives set by the Chairman and Board of Directors. You will be supported by a substantive and dedicated executive management team and a highly motivated workforce to allow for the planning and creativity required to achieve sales and further market share growth.

We seek an ambitious and ethical person with solid managerial and strategic administrative skills and an ability to enhance the fortunes and future expansion plans where applicable. You should be highly profit-driven, have a strong business and commercial flair, and a proven ability to attract new business and enhance close relationships with key clients. You must be flexible and be able to multi-task working within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment while driving forward clarity and solutions, demonstrating resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.

You will naturally be highly educated with a post-graduate qualification in your chosen field and command a presence in today’s business sector at a senior level, preferably from a ZSE-listed or renowned private-sector employer. You must be a seasoned leader, have strong integrity, and be above reproach with a track record in deliverable measured career.
